Foxtail Agave #3, 2022

3. Succulent leaf By Alessandra Chaves

Agave attenuata, commonly known as Foxtail Agave, is an exquisite ornamental plant originating from Mexico. It thrives abundantly in the picturesque landscapes of Itaipava, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This captivating species can be found adorning both the streets and private gardens in the area. During my last visit to Itaipava, we experienced heavy rainfall, which efficiently cleansed the Agave plants, eliminating any accumulated dust or debris. Recognizing this opportune moment, I decided to capture the plant's graceful curves and distinctive form through photography. Personally, I find that the plant's inherent beauty is most strikingly conveyed when depicted in black and white.
