In the thick fog of morning, a herd of Tule elk roam freely in the elk refuge of Tomales Point. One of my favorite out and back hikes in California, the trail meanders along the cliffs the tower above the coastline near Point Reyes. Even though visibility is low in the fog, it still made for some very dramatic photos of the elk. And once the fog clears, prepare yourself for some breathtaking views!
