Driving the mountains of Vermont on a sub-zero day, I rounded a bend to find this fine beauty against the skyline. Inspired, I returned to take photos for this painting. I enjoy painting old barns as I believe they are becoming extinct here in New England and across the country. Painting them is my part in their preservation. I call in the spirits of place to guide me in my work and honor the hard-working families; stewards of land and animals, they represent.
