Initially envisioned as a tranquil sunset reflecting over water, this painting evolved as the artist wrestled with anxiety, depression, and CPTSD. As the layers deepened, darkness bled into the horizon. The final composition reveals light barely piercing through murky veils—a visual metaphor for living with mental health challenges. The distorted luminance represents how beauty, hope, and clarity can feel just out of reach when your perspective is shaped by trauma. This piece is a deeply personal view from within—the artist's experience of looking out through a stormed, shadowed lens, knowing the glow is real, even if obscured.
