This painting came together after a couple of early morning sketches from my imagination. Whenever I draw or paint a figure, they're always one-legged and probably missing arms as well. I am drawn to amputatees, probably because I've had a masectomy, and, too scoliosis has made me a little crooked. Hopefully, her resilence shines in this painting. Carrying way more than she should, and on one leg, she walks proudly toward a new place...capable of protecting herself if she has to.
