Phoenix of Notre Dame

Natural World Collection By Francine Fox

Archival giclee print on Entrada Rag Natural paper, Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper or matte stretched canvas. This digital painting was created by Francine Fox in 2019. "The day after the fire at the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris, the rooster-shaped weathervane that had topped the collapsed spire was found; it was dented but salvageable. Seemingly symbolic of the immediately voiced intentions to rebuild the cathedral, I see the iconic rooster weathervane as a phoenix now. In my imagery, I have set the bird atop a tall pine tree to signify regrowth, but also to hint at parallel stories of loss and regeneration in general." - Francine Fox For high resolution images and detail shots, please visit www.francinefox.net.
