2001 CAPE MAY, NJ - Sketched 9/2000, Painted 9/2001 - Our watercolor workshop instructor, Marge Chavooshian, sent all down to the beach in Cape May, N.J. to do a quick sketch and painting of our choosing. Since the time was limited (and the day extremely warm), I chose to do this little painting of a snow fence and bushes on the dunes. It was nothing special. Yet just this small portion of the beach at Cape May made for a pleasing picture. Small though it is, the painting stirs memories of summer days at the shore. Often the smallest of images is all we need to reawaken a memory long forgotten.
