53. 23rd Street Pavilion

Donald Hazen Brown Archive By Don Brown

2006 OCEAN CITY, NJ. This Pavilion at 23rd street is one of the most attractive in Ocean City. After looking at it from several different angles, I decided that it portrayed itself most completely from the beach, rather than the board walk. On a hot summer day, it is usually occupied by a goodly number of people. They come to the pavilion seeking some relief from the sun and yet wanting to be near enough to the ocean to see its beach, hear the surf washing over the sand, and enjoy the ocean breeze. We all need our places of respite. There are times when we need a shelter of rest and relief. Places and times where we can "catch our breath", and be reinvigorated before we continue on our "walk."
