2000 - MENDHAM, NJ In a somewhat imaginative and symbolic manner, I painted this gateway to a cemetery at St. John Baptist In Mendham, N. J. The dark, almost black tree in the foreground is a reminder that death precedes the life beyond the gate in the cemetery. The shafts of golden light behind the gate are symbolic of another dimension of life beyond death. In the nearest foreground are the signs of hope in this life: the heart, the daisies, and the butterfly, an ancient symbol of resurrection.
