2003 MENDHAM, NJ This very English, Anglican looking Chapel is part of the Convent of Episcopalian nuns. I have worshipped in their simple but beautiful Chapel on more than one occasion. Upon first coming upon this monastic looking Chapel, it appears as if it could be located in a country village sowewhere in England. In reality; however, the Chapel is located in Mendham, New Jersey. Yet as I painted this picture it felt more like an English landscape than one just several miles away. The magic of a pai11ting is that imaginatively it can transport you anywhere--as in this painting to Mendham or, if you wish, to England. An active imagination opens up all kinds of possibilities. All we need to do is cultivate it!
