OCEAN CITY, NJ I painted this quick sketch in a Paul Signac fashion in an attempt to capture the wind and turbulent surf. The catamarans are stranded on the beach. Perhaps it is too breezy a day to challenge the ocean. Better to remain safe on the sand than to dare the surf. Discretion sometimes leads us to caution. Maturity is the art of discernment. To acknowledge the need for caution is a discrete use of wisdom. Sometimes, when the winds are high, like these catamarans, it is better to stay on the beach.
