32A.YELLOW SUNSET

Donald Hazen Brown Archive By Don Brown

2008 Almost all painters attend classes and workshops to learn their craft. This painting was the product of a week long workshop I attended in Warwick, New York. The instructor, Elaine Garvin, painted the picture one phase at a time as the class gathered around to watch. Then we went back to our tables and attempted to do as she had demonstrated. We did the painting in four separated stages. Amazingly, no two paintings looked completely similar. Each reflected the individuality of each painter. Like painting, there are always those around us who can be instructors and "guides" for us if only we are open to hearing what others have to offer. There is a corporate wisdom available to each of us. Life is a journey of learning.
