2001 MYSTIC, CT. We were on our way back to the parking lot after a day of touring in Mystic Connecticut. As we hurried across a bridge to get to our car, I gave a quick glance across the bridge and saw these houses set beside the stream. I continued on our hurried pace. But the image of what I had just seen stayed in my mind's eye. Quickly I reversed myself and went back to take a snap shot of this pastoral, idyllic scene. Later it became the basis for this watercolor painting. At the hectic pace we live, we often hurriedly pass by those instances and images that have the power to feed our souls. Sometimes we need to put things in reverse and go back for another look---another exposure to an experience that just might become a moment of sustenance.
