There is a long section of Highway 50, east of Sly Park, that winds it's way through the mountains, in sway with the South Fork of the American River runs. Somewhat hidden are beautiful groves of big leaf maple, black oak, dogwood and other deciduous trees, that during Autumn, put on a hidden show that I've not heard talked about. A little bit of secret.
