Homeric Ship

Greece By David D. Pearce

This print depicts an Homeric-era ship, with the names of various parts of its rigging in both English and Ancient Greek. As a lifelong Classics buff, I was thrilled to be living from 2013-2016 in Greece, a land I had read so much about for so long. One day, while re-reading a section of the Odyssey, I decided to try to sketch an Homeric ship. On a whim, I sent my little sketch, done for my own education, out on Twitter, and was astonished at how many people picked it up and retweeted it. I have often since been asked to make this available as a print. So here it is.
