The shipwreck in the Rosses region of County Donegal was an invitation to remember all that had been lost, to include the stories that slip from us as time passes. From generation to generation, we forget that those who came before faced so many storms—and some did not survive. Those who did were forever changed in the same way our own hearts can change when we pause to honor the stories of the souls who have lived and loved and lost in the lands we now traverse. "Donegal Shipwreck: The Shadow of Fear and All the Love That Rushes In" is a Soul of Ireland painting by Virginia artist Dawn Richerson who called Ireland home for three years and fell in love with the land and its many truths and treasures. "In the heart of the Emerald Isle I was met with mystery and miracle. Her soul spoke to my soul and I was forever changed.
