Deep in an Irish wood, I came upon her while contemplating my never-ending quest for an elusive peace. I rounded a curve and came across a mossy figure leaning into life, seemingly content to be who she was as she was, surrendered to the fact she was caught up in life's storm yet sure in the knowing she was held in an infinite grace. My long walks in Ireland taught me much about life. Striking images from nature such as this one spoke to me of truth and all that matters most. There is so much healing there for us in nature, and nature is a reflection of our experience in the moment—a reminder of our essential nature as a child of God and one with the life that is God.
