In between all the rejoicing on heaven's peace-filled shores was the heartbreak and perplexity of the human experience of higher gifts bestowed. Plain to see, there was a treasure and an offering—sun, moon, and stars and a beautiful beginning again. And just as plain to see was the pain of remembering yesterday's flowers fading and the rhythm to which they had become accustomed disrupted.
