Tango in Buenos Aires

Cultural By Barry & Cathy Beck

The tango evolved about 1880 in dance halls and perhaps brothels in the lower-class districts of Buenos Aires. One of the most fascinating of all dances, the tango is a sensual ballroom dance, usually performed by a man and a women, expressing an element of romance in their synchronized dance steps.
