Homage: Colin McCahon 2004 Original variations on a theme by a leading Southern Region Pacific Coast artist. Colin McCahon, inspired by what he saw in 'Life' Magazines article of a Spanish Nuns Black and White scriptural paintings in the Spanish Abstracr expressionist mode of 1954 as exhibited at the Vatican Pavilion of the Worlds Fair that year. Colin McCahon began works in similar vein in the far flung Pacific region. These are variations on a theme therefore of both artists with a Catholic bent.
