Foodpatterns By Thea Herzig

With the fourth painting of the series "Favourites" I take a step that you cannot see. It is the only painting that is not based on a reference picture but is solely the product of my imagination. I have brought together all the fruits that I enjoyed painting the most in one painting. The grapes and plums I discovered on "Abundance", the currants while painting "Passion", the apples were my big discovery from the beginning while painting "Epiphany" and I even dedicated a small series to the rose hips earlier. The pomegranate is also an old favourite friend, which I have only given a new appearance in this painting. With this painting the small series feels complete. And not only the series closes here, but also the annual run is finished. All in all I worked on all 4 paintings for almost exactly one year. This year, which was mainly dedicated to the aesthetics and the perfection of my technique, has brought me further in my artistic definition. Food as my skin theme has emerged and made me want to go further into this theme. It is an exuberant beginning and makes me curious about the continuation.
