While visiting Cape Town, South Africa in 2008, I was enamored by the difference between the “South African Townships” and the remainder of the city which was built as cities in America with magnificently designed buildings often built to withstand earthquakes and/or tornadoes. Yet the box like homes in this “South African Township” with its beautiful colors is what I remembered most about my visit.
