On a barrier island just off the west coast of Florida is Gasperilla Island Light. Constructed in 1885 to serve as a range light in Delaware, it was decommissioned in 1918 and deconstructed in 1921. It was reassembled in 1927 on Gasperilla Island and lit in 1932 to serve as a rear range light for Port Boca Grande. The light has recently been restored by the Barrier Island Parks Society.
