**Cedo** Cedo is Latin meaning to grant or to give. There was a statue of a maiden resting on a vase and I loved her look of defeat and wanted to create an art piece using her image. Perhaps her defeat is over the cruelty she has witnessed by individuals that preach hatred in their God’s name. The angel loosing her feathers for demon wings touches on my feelings that love of God is not always the same as love of Good —That’s a quote from Herman Hesse. Why the eye? Eyes express the innermost feelings and desires of the heart. Eye’s are symbolically associated with intelligence, light, vigilance, moral conscience and truth.
