Sheltered Wildflowers

Abstract Poetry By Natascha C. Wise

On a hike in the mountains, I found an old, dead tree. It seemed to have been struck by lightning--the trunk had burn marks and was split open halfway up the tree. It had been there for a few years, long enough for grass and wildflowers to take hold in that sheltered, hollowed-out trunk. Death led to new life, and the lovely flowers reached happily towards the sun.
