This piece is a tribute to the memories of trips my father and I took to go fishing in the Colorado Mountains. He would pick a weekend, and we would go somewhere and camp for a couple of days. We would fish at dawn and dusk, and hike for the rest of the day. I remember whining quite a bit when I was younger. We had walked forever, and it was hot, and the pack was so heavy, couldn't we rest a minute? He stayed patient somehow, and told me it was only a little farther. Then he would promise a view I would remember when we got there. He never failed to deliver. However much I had whined through the trip, when it came time to leave, I never wanted to go home.
