A few years ago while visiting family in New York, I decided to grab my camera and stroll through Skaneateles both on Christmas Eve and Christmas day because I was inspired by the winter landscape and the decorations. I had grown up near this town through most of my life and enjoyed the ritzy and beautiful landscape of this village in all seasons. (It was really amazing how empty the village was on Christmas, yet it was perfect because I didn’t have a crowd in front of what I wanted to take a photo of.) I saw this pair of ice skates hanging on a shop door. Little did I know this photo would inspire future Christmas cards and prints. I was amazed when I met a woman at an outdoor art show in the Corpus Christi area who knew where Skaneateles was. Her daughter was living or had lived in Skaneateles before, and she just had to have that print to give to her daughter! So I guess it is a small world after all.
