My grandfather was an amazing gardener and he lovingly preserved what he grew. He made the best dill pickles in the world and I loved being one of his taste testers. I would ask him if they were ready and he would either answer, “In a few more weeks” or “I don't know, lets go check!” There's nothing quite like opening a jar of homemade pickles and taking that first bite! My grandfather would ask me, “Well, how are they?” And I would smile and reply “Perfect!” Like my grandfather, I have found a love for gardening and preserving. This piece is dedicated to my fond memories I have of him and the inspiration he instilled in me.
