The White Deer By Michael Bateman

This regular visitor to my benat is passing up the hillside late one summer afternoon with some of her friends, one of whom is her newborn fawn. Her largely white coat is commonly called "piebald," and is the result of an uncommon genetic condition called Leucism. Similar to Albinism where all pigmentation is missing, Leucistic animals still have some of their color.
