Urban Sketching By Cassie Carroll

For a long time one of my goals has been to practice an urban sketching technique. I was finally able to to that on a trip to New York City. This was the view from the lobby of our hotel room. I love how New York has a lot of seating next to large picture windows which makes it easy to sit, work and not feel awkward that you are by yourself. There was a lot scaffolding on the sidewalk but I used my artistic license to edit it out of the way. It was chilly and I love drawing people bundled up in outerwear.
