Urban Sketching By Cassie Carroll

For a long time one of my goals has been to practice an urban sketching technique. I was finally able to to that on a trip to New York City. I love the look of fire escapes and became a little obsessed with drawing them while in NYC. This was a view that I had when I sat on the sidewalk in front of a building to draw. I really like the look of the layered water color in this piece and the added depth that it adds to the brick.
