"Tower of Babel " is a painting which expresses my feelings of how we have lost Meaning in Art to vague Abstractionism, along with diminished human values and worth, as well as the unraveling of our Culture. This is due, in my view, to the fragmentation of trust and idealism, pertaining to the horrific realities of modern warfare and Man's capacities for hatred, racism, and barbarity, as witnessed by artists affected by the Holocausts of WW ll. Art throughout history has given us a visual understanding of what was greatest and most important in bygone civilizations. What can be said of Art for Art's sake?
